More than a Meeting

Like every other aspect of Church Life, our men's ministry is much more than a meeting; it's the gathering of some very different men into a unified group, ready to stand for God and each other.  Something really great has begun to happen among the men of COTK.

Why a Band of Brothers?

It was way back in 1415 when Henry V stood before the French at Agincourt, and fully two hundred years later when Shakespeare imagined the king's great speach to his men.  "We few" he called them. "We happy few. We band of brothers."

What exactly could that bit of English prose have to do with a bunch of American guys in the 21st Century?  Consider what the king said next: That other men, still asleep back home, would forever curse the day of their birth that they had not been there, on that day of battle, alongside their king.

And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon (this) day.

Band of BrothersIt's much the same for us. We count it a privilege to stand alongside the King of Kings and take the field for His purposes. It's also a privilege to find the depth of brotherly commitment that men can give each other in the process.
