About Us

Worship

"Like a Family" We believe church should be more like a family than a meeting and when we do meet it's a family reunion! God revealed Jesus as His "only Son" and Jesus said we can know God as Our Father, so that makes us all brothers and sisters. There's a big emphasis on relationships in COTK as you'll see by walking through.

History

Church of The King was born in 1995 when Bill & Jean Davidson left Church of The Nations in Hadley-Luzerne in the good hands of Derek & Mary Jane Bevan and moved to Queensbury where they were joined by twelve members of COTN who already lived "this side of the mountain". Several other churches and ministries had been founded by the Davidsons in this region and abroad, including Saratoga Abundant Life, First Church of Granville, NY,  Iglesia Oasis, Bogota, Colombia, The King's School in Hadley, NY, and The Esperanza Foundation, ministering to children in Colombia.

WorshipWorship

Worship is a lifestyle, not just a set of songs on a Sunday.  The old English word was 'weurth-scheip' - which meant that of greatest worth.  That's what worship is all about; recognizing that God has first place in everything, the Object of our greatest worth. But it also means great songs!

Kellie Girling is our worship leader. She has been a singer-song-writer since her childhood. Somehow she fits being a school principal, wife, mother and recording artist together with leading us into God's presence as leader of our powerful times of worship.

Our music is very contemporary - just like our faith; current, relevant, powerful and passionate.
